Two week doctor's appointment!

London's 2 week checkup! She did so good. I wasn't too excited about going because I knew she would have to get her 2nd PKU shot, and I knew she probably would cry :( On the other hand I had some questions to ask the doctor so I was relieved that I had an appointment. When we got there we weighed her and measured her. I could not believe it, she weighed 7.6 lbs and measured 20 inches!!! WOW, she is growing like a weed. She has grown 2 1/2 inches and gained just over a pound. (Clay was teasing me that I was putting her on the weight watchers diet, because I wanted her to wait three hours to eat instead of two one day) Well I was sure to tell him that she is NOT on any type of diet, except the gaining weight diet!!! The doctor said it was great that she'd gained weight so well! It is such a comforting feeling to know that she is growing and developing, but I don't want her to grow so fast, before I know it she's not going to want me to hold her anymore. :(
After all the weighing and measuring the nurse came in to to give her the shot so I held her close and hoped she'd be ok. The poke came, and a scream followed, but she actually did better than I thought. She is such a good girl!!!! The doctor came in shortly after and checked her out, and I asked my questions! I have been concerned because she sounds like she is having a hard time breathing, which is nothing to take lightly! I actually called in over the weekend to see if I needed to take her in. She has sounded a  little raspy and was definitely struggling for air; almost asthmatic sounding. She was breathing up to 60 times a minute and her ribs were pulling as she took a breath. These are all signs of struggle-some breathing that they told me to look for, so of course I called. My parents were at our house which was comforting because my mom was the one who said, "I think you should call!" Clay and I had been noticing her breathing for a few days, but no one else seemed to hear it so I didn't know what to do, but it was more prevalent on this night. The doctor told me to check a few things, but said he though it would be fine to come in on monday! So as he checked her he could hear what I was talking about and he diagnosed her as having tracheomalacia Which means that her cartilage rings in her trachea weren't fully developed so as she breathing her airway is a little floppy and causing her breathing to sound the way it does. He said it was nothing to worry about, it was something she needs to grow out of (it could take a long time) I hope that she is able to overcome this quickly though, because it breaks my heart to know that she is struggling for each breath. They did test her oxygen levels and they seemed good, so that is comforting. She just has to work a little harder for each breath. I ended up getting a second opinion from another doctor just to make sure he gave me the same diagnosis and he did, so I guess we will just wait this out and hope it goes away sooner rather than later
After the shot!!

I LOVE her feet, I think they are the cutest feet ever!!!!!

Weighing in at 7 LBS 6 OZ
and
measuring 20 inches today

I went to check on her while she was napping and when I walked in this is the position I found her in!!! I couldn't help but smile; she had shifted around to her side and curled up in a little ball. She LOVES to sleep on her side like this, but now I have to be careful because I have to make sure her airway is more open so she can breath better!
Stretch!!
This is Me and Clay's first time to go out to dinner with her! My parents called and wanted to take us to dinner, so we thought we'd give it a try. She did really good. She slept most of the time. When we first sat down she started to cry and I put my hands by her fingers and she grabbed on so tight, it was so adorable. She calmed right down, but I eventually had to have her release her grip so I could eat. She is so precious!!!
THANKS FOR DINNER MOM AND DAD!!!!
